Piano Lessons and Tutoring

I offer piano lessons for all ages and skill levels. The lessons will be tailor-made to suit the student’s skills and wishes. The number one priority is to make learning the piano something fun, not a chore.

The lessons take place at my home in Gundeldingen, Basel, along practical public transportation routes with the trams 16, 15, 11 and 10, and the bus 36. I am open to discussion about lessons at Your own home as well.

Children

I have experience in teaching children from six to eighteen years old. I have a good understanding of what children of different ages can and can’t play, and I use that knowledge to plan suitable lessons that are not too hard, but still challenging and interesting.

For small children I recommend a lesson of the duration of 30 minutes. For children of the age around 10 years old, I would recommend 45 minutes, and for teenagers 60 minutes.

Adults

While I am happy to teach students of all ages, in the past couple of years I have specialised in teaching adults. Often once per week is a bit too frequent for a busy adult, and that’s why I’m happy to offer an option for flexible scheduling, for example every other week or once per month.

Lessons for two

Taking piano lessons doesn’t have to be a solitary hobby anymore! I have planned lessons for two people, so you can now take lessons together with your friend, partner, or family member, young or old. Have fun playing songs together, according to your respective skill levels.

I’m here for You or Your child! I offer music theory tutoring with creative ways of making sense of the jumble of notes and chords. As with the piano lessons, tutoring takes place in my home, but coming to you can be discussed.
